How to Recognize Brown Patch Fungus

Those ugly brown patches in grass could be caused by a fungus called Rhizoctonia solani  or brown patch fungus. It can first be identified as brown spots on individual grass blades, then as the spots grow larger they make the whole blade brown. Get enough of them and they can turn entire sections of grass brown. When they form whole patches, the edge of this patch may be gray or a darker brown. Higher grasses won't have this darker line, and tall fescue in particular won't patch – instead, the entire lawn will start to discolor little by little. For a healthy fungus free lawn, contact Slug-A-Bug. Brown Patch Fungus Can Cause Those Spots in Your Yard

You want a healthy lawn, who doesn't? But if entire sections of it are brown, that's a huge problem. Take a look at what might be wrong and what you can do about it.

For a healthy lawn, free of fungus, you may want to consult a Brevard County lawn care service like Slug-A-Bug. A professional lawn care service can eliminate lawn fungus both by treating the brown patch fungus and by changing the environment of the lawn itself. Fungus can be resolved when the habitat of the lawn is changed through proper fertilization, watering, and cutting, but the details change by lawn, environment, and type of grass. This is why a lawn care service may be your best – and least stressful – bet.

Contact Slug-A-Bug today for a free evaluation at 321-259-7844.
