Why are Whiteflies Such a Big Problem in Florida?

The phrase "harmless as a fly" does not pertain to the whitefly. Whiteflies are drawn to warm tropical climates, seek shelter under leaves to lay their eggs. Once the eggs hatch, young whiteflies feed on the leaves, causing them to turn brown and brittle.
